All tasks to keep Protospace running are the result of volunteer efforts by members. Do-ocracy dictates that members willing to volunteer get to decide how tasks are performed; however, many tasks have special requirements. For example, training, consistency, credentials/security, communication, and record keeping.

Establishing Member Roles allows for standardization of responsibilities, procedures, and expectations to help achieve consistent results. Some roles obviously more formal than others - established by articles/bylaws, policy, or just informal adoption of duties as time went on.
