Specs

The Prusa XL is our largest printer and has two different tools which can be used on the same print

Tool Nozzle Details Nozzle Diameter Can print abrasive filament?
1 Prusa Brass 0.4 mm Please no!
2 E3D ObXidian (Hardened nozzle) 0.6 mm Yes

Usage

Need to select which tool (1 or 2) you want to use in the slicer settings. The Tool 2 nozzle is hardened and a larger diameter so better for large prints or printing with abrasive materials such as carbon fibre or glow in the dark. The larger nozzle will also result in stronger prints due to more material per pass.

Clip-on labels indicate the currently installed nozzle diameter for each tool.

Nozzle diameter clips are shown in white

Troubleshooting

All the spare parts and prusa-specific tools live in the top drawer below the printer.

Nozzle swap guided

The old spare 0.4mm brass nozzle is located with the tools in the drawer under the printer. Please swap the nozzle size indicator clip if changing back to a 0.4mm nozzle.
