How to Turn on and off the PA system
The PA system now at Protospace is available for everyone's use. As it is a Pro Audio PA system, it's operation is a bit more involved than a simple stereo. Here's the info you need in point form...
To Turn ON the PA System:
1. Make sure the Coffin (rack) has power. There is a power bar at the bottom.
2. Plug your source into the mixer on the top "Channel 7" inputs. (Channels are labeled at the top of each strip)
3. Make sure all sliders are DOWN ie OFF.
The Speakers are all self powered:
4. Go to each speaker, and either turn on, plug in, or both. Please don't adjust any knobs on the back of the speakers.
5. The SUB also has a switch and may also need to be plugged in / turned on.
6. carefully bring up the master volume sliders. Both sliders should be at half volume
7. Start your source audio playing and carefully slide up channel 7 slider.
If you require the wireless mic, it is wired on Channel 1.
Audio is also fed from the home theatre amp on channel 6. Handy for listening to airplay, radio, etc.
There are two switches on the mic itself. The little black switch is POWER, and the grey switch is MUTE. To use the mic, BOTH switches must be in the UP position. Once done, please remember to turn BOTH switches off to save batteries.
To Turn OFF the PA System:
(same as turn on procedure but in reverse)
1. Stop Source audio, and slide all sliders DOWN. This includes Master Volume.
2. Go to the sub and speakers, and turn each of them OFF. DO THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING!!!!!!!
3. Once all speakers are off, rack can be unplugged, or simply turn off power bar at the bottom of the rack.
