Updates

  • 2016-06-01: Pitch was approved. Created wiki page. Received a linear CCD board from Barrie, to be used for spectrometry.
  • 2016-06-08: No progress this week. Planning to do more work on the spectrophotometer soon, and collect items of different colors for test subjects to sort.
  • 2016-06-15: Bought another spectrophotometer. This one works. I plan to combine the working internals of this one with the nicer exterior of the other one. I have ideas for using the leftover parts.
  • 2016-06-24: No progress yet this week.
  • 2016-06-30: Working on the first proof of concept test. Unfortunately, all of my shutter glasses and filter wheels seem to have disappeared from my shelf, so I have decided to make a computer-based PoC instead, until I can find them/get them back. This means the milestone will be delayed by a few days to a week. However, the computer-based PoC will likely be more flexible and useful for studying the effects of my system on color discrimination.
  • 2016-07-11: Forgot to post an update last week. Oops! But I did complete initial proof-of-concept testing using some transparent plastic sheets of different colors. I will add a link here once I write that up. Computer-based PoC is not complete—CSS blend modes don't seem to be working the way I expected.
  • 2016-07-23: Looking for sources of better filters—found the names of some photography/theatrical supply stores, going to check them out next week. Need to do a test with a colorblind subject soon.
