== Which Payment Method is "best"? ==
Thanks for asking. Seriously. It's great that members want to get the best bank for our membership buck. The "best" method is whatever works to keep your dues current. For many of us, that's using a Paypal Subscription. Paypal transactions are processed automatically, so there is zero administrative effort. If you just want the simplest, quickest answer, then what's best is usually "'''please start a PayPal subscription'''". Links are below.
But, wait, you ask, doesn't that cost us a lot of money? We have enough volume that we actually get a slight discount. We pay about 2.65%. The typical rate, at our volume, for any online or card transaction is between 2.5 and 3.0 percent.
Here's how you can save Protospace money on processing fees:
* Pay annually, using Cash, Cheque or Interac Transfer
* Use manual paypal payments (not subscriptions) using your bank account or paypal balance (not a credit card)
For monthly payments the amount of work to manually process the payment far outweighs the processing fee. '''If you are doing monthly payments, just use a subscription'''.
