What: Electronics SMT workshop

When: 7-9pm, July 30/31 2014

Where: Main Bay work benches

Who:

Tools & Equipment:

  • Refow Oven
  • Hot air rework station + soldering iron
  • tweezers
  • X-acto knife
  • magnifying class/lamp
  • power supply (USB Mini cable from laptop is sufficient)
  • laptop with Arduino software installed (for programming)

How:

  1. Apply solder paste using stencil
  2. Place SMD parts ensuring proper polarity
  3. Bake boards
  4. Place discretes by hand soldering
  5. Visual inspection
  6. Optional electrical testing
  7. Apply power (check for hot components
  8. Install Atmel 328p MCU
  9. Apply power and perform software test.
