Internet Access Options
From Protospace
We need some internets at the space. We should probably go with the cheapest we can find, and upgrade later.
If we go with a smaller company, i'd like to see us use someone local
Our internet options are as follows:
Shaw:
- No special Non-Profit discounts
- Is willing to sell us a residential service
- Plans start at 29.95/mo for 256k down, 10MB bandwidth
- Business Plans start at 68.95, 7.5/512/90GB
- They were jerks to me on the phone
TELUS:
- No special Non-Profit discounts
- Can get residential
- Can have 3 mos free if we go with a business package
- Home plan starts at 25/mo 256k
- Business plans start at $71.95/mo 3/1/70GB
- They pay my bills
TekSavvy:
- I like these guys the best
- DSL Reseller out of Toronto for Bell
- $4/mo for a static IP
- $7.95 surcharge for a DRY line
- Business plans start at $49.00/mo 3/1/200GB
- Costs $25 to change plans
- No contract!
- they allow bonding
- Geek Friendly according to Kan_
Nucleus:
- Will do residential service to a commercial building. This is only useful if we don't get a static IP
- Business Plans that allow servers start at 79.95, 3/1/unspecified
- They probably suck.
Terago:
- We could do a symmetrical 1.5 Mbps connection with 90 GB of traffic per month on a three year term for $290 per month and a $500 install.
Other Suggestions:
- Place across the street? (i couldn't find it)
